A Group 1-winning horseman, approachable trainer and passionate supporter of the racing journey, David Pfieffer is joining Club Racing Australia.

CLUB RACING AUSTRALIA | MEET THE TRAINERS

DAVID PFIEFFER

Club Racing Australia is delighted to welcome David Pfieffer Racing as one of our inaugural training partners.

Based at Warwick Farm, David runs a boutique stable built around hands-on horsemanship, attention to detail and individual care. His personal approach gives every horse the opportunity to reach its full potential and owners a close connection to the racing journey.

Building a career in racing

David brings more than two decades of industry experience to the CRA trainer team. Before establishing

his own stable, he developed his skills while working alongside respected racing figures including Rod

Craig, Graeme Rogerson and the late Tony Wildman.

Those years gave David a strong grounding in the education, preparation and management of thoroughbreds. He has since built a successful training career of his own, earning a reputation as an astute and dedicated horseman who recognises the individual needs of each horse.

A proven record of success

David has prepared horses to succeed at metropolitan, stakes and Group 1 level. I Am Excited delivered the stable its first Group 1 victory when she won The Galaxy at Rosehill in 2020. Rocketing By added another major highlight with victory in the $2 million Group 3 Sydney Stakes at Royal Randwick in 2022.

More recent performers include Oh Diamond Lil, whose seven career wins included the 2025 Group 3 Tibbie Stakes and multiple victories at Royal Randwick; Whinchat, a metropolitan winner and stakes placegetter; and Ice Kool, a rising sprint talent named 2025/26 BOBS Horse of the Year.

Earlier standout performers include Graceful Anna, winner of the $1 million Magic Millions 3YO Trophy and Group 3 Vo Rogue Plate; Gai's Choice, winner of the Gai Waterhouse Classic; and Cradle Me, whose feature victories included the Group 2 Dane Ripper Stakes, Canterbury Classic and Razor Sharp Handicap.

Together, these horses demonstrate David's ability to develop talent and achieve quality results through carefully tailored preparation.

A boutique stable at Warwick Farm

David Pfieffer Racing operates from a 40-box stable at Warwick Farm Racecourse, with access to a range of racing and training surfaces, a swimming pool, practice barriers and facilities for schooling and conditioning.

Its location within Sydney's racing network provides convenient access to Royal Randwick, Rosehill Gardens, Canterbury Park and leading provincial racecourses.

The boutique stable environment allows David to remain closely involved in each horse's daily preparation, combining quality facilities with individual attention.

An approachable trainer who keeps owners involved

David values open communication and enjoys sharing the racing journey with owners. His approachable style gives owners a direct connection to the stable and a clear understanding of their horse's progress.

For CRA members, following a racehorse will be about much more than its performance on race day. It will be an opportunity to experience the full journey, from early education and stable routines through to trials, race preparation and the excitement of competition.

David's hands-on involvement and personal approach make him a natural fit for Club Racing Australia's vision of bringing supporters closer to the people, horses and stories behind the sport.

Could David train your club's first horse?

As one of CRA's inaugural trainers, David could be responsible for preparing a horse carrying colours inspired by your club.

Supporters will be able to follow its progress, experience selected behind-the-scenes moments and share every milestone with their wider club community.

From the quiet early mornings at Warwick Farm to the anticipation of race day, David Pfieffer Racing is ready to become part of the Club Racing Australia journey.
